DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Repairs and maintains equipment
such as sprayers, pumps, small motors and small production machines, and equipment
used to make chemical applications to cotton fields by the boll weevil program.
Diagnoses mechanical malfunctions. Modifies field equipment to meet program requirements.
Examines, inspects and adjusts parts for imperfections and determines if changes
are needed. Repairs electrical equipment as needed. Coordinates with the Zone
Safety/Vehicle Officer for parts, purchases and contract maintenance on Foundation
fleet vehicles. May perform minor or emergency repairs to fleet vehicles.
QUALIFICATIONS
High
school diploma or GED preferred plus two or more years of mechanical experience
with farm or small motor engines. Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical
and hydraulic pumps and sprayers or equivalent combination of technical education
and experience. Must have valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Foundation’s
fleet insurance policy.
