Zone Secretary

Location: Southern Blacklands Zone Office, 1713 Industrial Blvd, Cameron, TX 76520

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Organizes all administrative functions of the zone office, including proper program documentation. Responsible for various secretarial, clerical and typing tasks for the entire zone. Accurately types letters, memoranda, forms, reports and documents containing federal, scientific or technical terminology. Reviews accuracy and adequacy of data for incorporation into reports. Prepares monthly and periodic administrative program reports and prepares special program or administrative reports involving substantial research and the compilation of information from files. Takes and transcribes dictation containing general and scientific/technical terminology. Maintains zone correspondence file, including pending files and policy/procedure files. Maintains field records for the entire zone, including zone property and inventory, zone procurement and travel records. Maintains zone-level personnel files and ensures accuracy and completeness. Maintains required Workers Compensation files and ensures that all information is accurately and timely completed and distributed accordingly.

QUALIFICATIONS

A high school diploma or general education degree (GED), at least four to six years of previous secretarial experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Applicant must be a qualified typist and must possess word processing and database skills. Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable according to the Foundation fleet insurance policy.
